and their money will grow based upon looking at the best, look ing at a guy like you who has done it right?

Curtis: Exactly!

Pz: How, then, do you see your role in the fitness industry in the future? What role are you going to play as opposed to Curtis McGee, Personal Trainer?

Curtis: I see myself as making the transition from Curtis McGee the Per sonal Trainer to Curtis McGee the fit ness and finance guy. The thing that I'm most keyed up about is that none of the socalled experts who are at the top right now have been able to make that transition from fitness to finance. That is where I'm going. My ultimate goal is to maintain perhaps 2 or 3 high profile clients and the rest of my time will be devoted to helping indi viduals on the financial end. I be came a trainer because I did a couple of things special and then I watched so many other people do some neat things as well. I decided to take what I liked from observing many different trainers. So that's where I'm headed now. I'm going to show you a huge variety of the different things that are out there. I'll give you a buffet of in formation and your job is to fill the plate with how much you can eat or how much you can absorb. But the bottom line is all the food at the buf fet is excellent.

Pz: We've talked in the past about the concept of a total package. Tell me what being a total package means to you.

Curtis: No, it's not that babe walking across the beach who is 362436. The total package I talk about in terms of fitness and finance is to be balanced to tell yourself that there is a financial side of the equation and you need to know as much as you can about that side. You have to know how to deal with financial situations that will arise. How are going to handle your taxes? How many cli ents do you need to train to meet your quota? Just simple things like that. You want to be prepared on the financial end and as a trainer you also want to have as much knowledge about your craft as possible. You want to continue your education. Just be cause I've trained over 5000 people don't think I can't sit down with a trainer, maybe even those trainers reading this or those who attend myand learn something. I can. I am always willing to learn. When we talk about incorporating a total package it means to be at the top of your game with the product that you do. As a Personal Trainer you want to be able to deliver the re sults asked of you and to be the best you can be on that end. On the finan cial end you want to make sure all those elements are in tack and all the bases are covered. You want to make sure that you understand the rate at which you want to grow. You want to make sure you are worth the amount of money you are charging as a trainer. There are so many things you want to ask yourself on the financial side that make the whole package come together.

Pz: So, I'm wondering, does it ap pear as though the average Per sonal Trainer being certified is get ting that financial message from anyone, right now?

Curtis: No, not at all. That's why I feel like this is my calling. There are a lot of people out there who say, `Get certified, be a trainer, blah, blah, blah.' They are very strong in that as pect of it, but then, it's almost like buying a car, the little quick mumbo jumbo at the end is the financial side'But if you prospect right and you blah, blah, blah, then you'll be a successful trainer.' I want to be an as set not only to the Personal Trainer but also to the facilities that certify these people. They both need my product. There is no doubt about it. People are calling and responding to what I do. That is the reason I want to be available for people to take advan tage of my knowledge and expertise. If you are going to be a trainer you might as well maximize your efforts on both fronts. To create that perfect balance between fitness goals and fi nancial goalsnow that's the pack age, the complete and total package.

Pz: Are you claiming that any trainer or wouldbe trainer reading this or who knows about Curtis McGee can benefit from your knowledge in a big way? Talk to me about that.

Curtis: Yes. They can come to my workshop entitled, `Fitness and Fi nance.' A large focus of the workshop deals with the important topics of how to get clients, how to keep cli ents, and how to market yourself as a trainer. I open it up for questions and answers and again, I don't believe I know everv answer. but I sure know a whole lot of the answers and if there is something I don't know I'll find out.

So its a great opportunity for people to not only attend the workshop but they can go to my website and take advantage of what I have there, too. Maybe you can't attend my workshop in Texas or California but you cer tainly can apply and register to have the in formation on line. I'm going to make it as con venient and easy as possible

Pz: That is really exciting news for the industry. Sounds like you are providing a missing piece of the per sonal training puzzle. In rapping this up Curtis, this is an industry that has been extremely good to you. What do you want most for other trainers?

Curtis: I want trainers to be as suc cessful as they want to be. I want them to be happy in what they do but also financially secure at the same time. I have the knowhow, the expe rience, the commitment, and the plan to help them achieve their fitness and finance goals. I want them to remem ber that the beginning of a long jour ney begins with the first step and I will be with them every step of the way.

Anything Curtis McGee has ever tackled he has accomplished He has conquered the world of personal training and is on a path of a different sort.
